Natural Resources

Paper production has reached the top position in the list of Industrial polluters that affect Air, Water and Soil at the same time.

Seldom did we realise that all the paper products are manufactured using our precious and depleting  natural resources. Paper decomposing in landfills, emits methane gas which is 25 times deadlier than CO2.

Reports say, the alarming increase of Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere is due to deforestation. A large number of trees are cut down for paper production.

Some mind boggling facts for you: Paper and Natural Resources

  • When a tree is cut down and goes to the paper production process, it releases Carbon Dioxide equivalent to all the CO2 absorbed in its lifetime back again into the atmosphere
  •  5-10% of tropical forest species are going extinct every 10 years . Looking at the current rate of deforestation, we lose 375 km2 of forest every single day
  • There is a 50% overshoot in the use of natural resources than the Earth can actually provide
  • At our current explosive rate of population, we need another half of our Earth, which simply does not exist
